A new leadership for FUNIC Cameroon

Dear Cameroonians, students of FUNIC Cameroon, alumni, parents, partners, and well wishes,

Haven been at the leadership of this prestigious institution since I created it in 2014, it is an emotional moment for me to introduce to you once more the 2nd President of FUNIC Cameroon, Mr. Roland Fomundam and to share with you what we have been able to accomplish with your support, and what we look forward to, in the coming years.

Creating a university is not the dream of many young girls in our country. But it was my dream.

Leading a team of the finest academics and professionals is not the desire of many young people in this part of the world, but it was my desire.

Taking responsibility for the future of an entire generation is not enchanting for many young people in my continent, but it was enchanting for me.

Opting to become a key player in and a change agent for an educational system which many qualify as ineffective is surely not very attractive to many young women, but it was attractive for me.

And for seven years at the helm of an Institution which was created on nothing more than passion and a strong desire to contribute to shaping the history of my country and continent, I have learned one important lesson: that every single one of us can write a chapter in the book of humanity.

I have written a chapter of determination, giving, starting small and growing together. Today, it is time to close that chapter and open a new page. A page I will write as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of FUNIC Cameroon.

In 2017, I championed the vision to train one million Africans by 2025 to become ethical leaders in their communities. Three years later, and with close to 20,000 Africans already trained by the amazing teams at FUNIC Cameroon, past and present, through University training programs, online training initiatives, seminars, conferences with our partners and the government, I believe it is time to take on a more strategic role and embrace the expertise and passion of other talented Cameroonians who share my passion and who will bring important contributions towards the achievement of our very ambitious vision.

As I sit down with a new page open before me, I am hopeful. I am hopeful that with your support, we’re going to raise a new generation of Cameroonians who will change the African narrative one life at a time.

In the days ahead, I will be introducing the board of trustees of our prestigious Institution. I am excited as I look forward to working with them to achieve our strategic vision.

Thank you all for believing in us and for being part of the FUNIC dream. Together, we will put our country on the map. God will help us.

Thank you!

Fotabe Elmine,
