The mission of FUNIC Trade School is to produce market-ready trade professionals who can manage operations, implement sales strategies, and launch or grow businesses with discipline and strategic thinking.
This institution prepares students not just to find jobs but to lead, innovate, and thrive in Africa's dynamic business environment.
FUNIC Trade School envisions a future where young African professionals are recognized not as job seekers, but as trade leaders, sales strategists, and business owners capable of influencing regional and global markets.
The school aspires to become Africa’s leading benchmark in trade-focused professional education.
- Discipline and pragmatism
- Business integrity
- Respect for traditional trade systems
- Strong mentorship culture
FUNIC Trade School believes in preparing students for the real world, not just for exams.
The flagship offering is the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Marketing, Trade, and Sales, officially recognized by Cameroon’s Ministry of Higher Education. Over two years, students engage in:
- Advanced academic coursework
- Field-based apprenticeship with experienced Igbo traders
- Business launch preparation and mentorship
Students are housed on campus, and tuition includes accommodation. A limited number of scholarships are available to support the most committed applicants.
The FUNIC Trade School approach blends African tradition with global standards. It is built on four key pillars:
1. The Igbo Apprenticeship System – where students learn directly from successful businesspeople.
2. TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) – focusing on job-readiness and skill-building.
3. International Trade School Standards – incorporating global best practices in pedagogy.
4. The FUNIC Apprenticeship Model (FAM) – a unique structure combining mentorship, classroom learning, and business launch support.
Year 1: Foundations and Apprenticeship
Students build core skills in sales, customer behavior, and marketing while beginning a hands-on apprenticeship with assigned trade mentors.
Year 2: Business Management and Practice
Students run a supervised mini supermarket, rotating through procurement, sales, and operations. Simultaneously, they design their own business projects with school support and, in some cases, seed funding.
Upon graduation, students receive:
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) in Marketing, Trade, and Sales
- An apprenticeship certificate
- A business settlement report and professional portfolio
Graduates are equipped to start their own businesses or step directly into leadership roles within trade and sales environments.
