Education is the bridge that connects people of all economic realities

As a young girl growing up in Kumba, i saw my dad wake up at 5:00am every single day to go about his Business. My mother- a civil servant serving with the then Ministry of Social and Women’s affairs was often gone. She was either training teenage mothers in Kumba to acquire lifelong skills, or trying to get fathers provide child support to their kids in Manyemen, or teaching music to secondary school students at GSS Nguti or trekking hundreds of kilometers to Njungo to discuss development of the Nkongho-Mbo people.

My parents worked hard to give us a good education. Today, i live the life I’ve always desired.

Since 2014, i have been committed to helping not just young girls, but young boys and young professionals in Cameroon have access to a good education.

FUNIC has made the dream of a good education come true for hundreds of Cameroonians through her Entrepreneurial leadership programs, Tuition -Free Agric Entrepreneurship Community Program and more. We have offered more than 230 Million CFA francs worth of scholarships! We have lived up to our promise of standing tall as a community University.

Today, education in Cameroon has been hard hit by conflicts and a worrying erosion of the values that make us human beings and Africans. Today, more than ever, young Cameroonians from Nwa, Sikam, Mbetta, Ekenge, Bachuo Ntai, Ndu, Bakingili, Bakassi, Mbonge, Ngarbu, Kumba, Ndop, Lobe Estates, and everywhere in the South West, North West and other Regions of this country need a good education. Education that will give them hope for a better future. Education that will restore their dignity as human beings. Education that will promote linguistic, religious and ethnic tolerance. Education that will remind them that when all else is lost, education is the bridge that connects people of all economic realities and gives them the possibility of sitting together on the same table and building the communities they want.

The need is great, the problems are enormous . But the opportunities for giving abound. Many have said that one thing that sets Cameroonians apart is their generosity. I have witnessed that in extraordinary ways both within this country and abroad. Today, we all have an opportunity of showing our solidarity and generosity to thousands of young people who do not have the opportunity to acquire a good education.

You can sponsor a young Cameroonian to acquire Vocational skills. You can sponsor a child to study for the HND or any other program that will open up doors of opportunity for them.

There must be someone you know in your family, your church, your neighborhood, or in your village who needs a hands-on education. This is your chance of contributing to restoring peace in our land. For where there is good education, there is respect of the dignity of the human race.
